Sweden Study Visa

Sweden Study Visa is also known as the ‘Residence Permit for Studies’ locally. Sweden is a top global destination for higher education as well as being the nation of diversity and balance. Universities in Sweden are among the top leaders in education globally. They use methods of teaching based on ‘responsibility with freedom’.

‘Residence Permit for Studies’ or the Sweden Study Visa is a document that authorizes overseas students to arrive and reside in Sweden for studies. This is for a period exceeding 3 months, as quoted by the Guardian.

There are 2 types of Sweden Study Visas:

Sweden Short Stay Study Visa

This is for overseas students who enroll in a study program in Sweden that lasts for less than 3 months.

Sweden Long Stay D Study Visa

This is for overseas students who enroll in a study program in Sweden that lasts for more than 6 months. It is also known as ‘Residence Permit for Studies’.

Applicants of Sweden Study Visa must fulfill certain requirements. They must:

  • Select a University Program in Sweden that is of full time in nature
  • Have a confirmation in writing that they have been admitted to the course
  • Preferably make payment of the fees rate of the first tuition
  • Possess a comprehensive health insurance if the stay is less than 12 months
  • Have a passport that has a validity of minimum 6 months

It is recommended that you apply for the Sweden Study Visa at the earliest. This is because the waiting times are around 2-3 months.
