If you are applying for a German Visa, there is some documentation work that you must complete. Based on the type of visa that you are applying for; the list of documents may vary.
The first step is to start filling the application form. While doing so, you must ensure that you fill out the correct information about yourself and the reason for your travel. Use capital letters while filling the form.
In case you are traveling to different Schengen countries, you must apply at the German Embassy in your country. You will have to apply for a Schengen Visa if the difference in days in-between the countries you will be visiting is not many.
If you have never had a Schengen visa before, you must hand over the form and the documents in person. Otherwise, you can send the scanned copies of the documentation via an email.
To apply for a Schengen Visa in Germany, your passport must be valid for a period of at least 6 months. You would need2 photos for your application form. Along with the other documents, you will have to submit the proof of your booked and paid accommodation. In case you are staying at you’re a known person’s place, you must submit a copy of their ID and passport too.
Along with the above documents, you must also submit the return ticket of your trip. Also, a valid health insurance which will cover the number of days of your stay should be submitted. If you are a student, you must submit the proof of admission from the educational institution. If you are visiting the country for employment, you must submit the copy of your contract. The letter must also have information regarding your annual leaves. If you are self-employed, you must provide proofs of your business.
For minors, the original birth certificate must be submitted along with the other documents. In case a minor is traveling alone, the approval of both the parents must be submitted. The approval of both the parents is required even if the minor is traveling with one of the parents.
In case you are applying for a tourist visa, a formal invitation letter is not required. In the case of a student visa, the letter of acceptance from the institution should be submitted. Along with that, bank statements showing your financial strength should also be submitted, as quoted by the Guardian.
If you are going on a business trip, an invitation letter along with the reason of your must be submitted. Finally, if you are going to Germany for a job, a letter from your employer must be submitted. This letter must contain details such as employment period, job role and exact duration of your stay in the country.
