Indian Consulate in Dubai has issued advisory for foreigners arriving in India through the E-Visa. It has said that they can arrive at any designated entry port in India through the E-Visa. This is notwithstanding the port specified in their application, it added.
The Indian Consulate said in a social media post that:
“It is being clarified that the Indian Government permits all overseas nationals with E-Visa to arrive at the nation at any of the 28 designated international airports or 5 chief seaports in India. This is notwithstanding the port of arrival specified in their E-Visa application form or ETA – Electronic Travel Authorisation”.
The Mission added that all overseas nationals with E-Visa can avail this facility to India. It is available to nationals of 167 nations as of now, as quoted by the Gulf News.
The NRI Help Desk – the Pravasi Bharatiya Sahayata Kendra in Dubai separately cautioned overseas nationals arriving at India. This is against fake individuals and E-Visa portals that claim to offer quick E-Visa services. It clarified that any authorized agents have not been appointed by India for E-Visa.
E-Visa application process:
- Apply online – upload your passport page and photograph
- Online payment of E-Visa fees – use Payment Wallet / Debit card / Credit card
- Get the ETA online – ETA / Electronic Travel Authorization will be sent to your e-mail
- Arrive at India – take a print out of ETA and offer it at the Immigration Check Post for stamping E-Visa on your passport
The E- Visa has 5 sub-streams:
- E-Conference Visa
- E-Medical Attendant Visa
- E-Medical Visa
- E-Business Visa
- E-Tourist Visa
An overseas national will be permitted to club activities allowed under the above categories. This is excluding those who apply for the E-Conference Visa. These will be permitted to club activities allowed under only the E-Tourist Visa. Just 2 E-Medical Attendant Visas will be offered against 1 E-Medical Visa.
