 Canada’s PNP program

An important aspect of Canada’s immigration policy is the Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs), with more than 200,000 individuals projected to receive permanent Canadian residency through a Provincial Nominee Program between 2020 and 2022.

The federal government has steadily increased the annual allocations of provinces for their respective PNPs over recent years, reflecting the rising importance of these programs within the overall Canadian immigration landscape.

Here are the September updates of the PNP program:

  • September 24, 2020: Saskatchewan in its PNP draw issued 525 invitations to candidates in the Express Entry and Occupations In-Demand streams of the SINP.
  • September 24, 2020: Nova Scotia issued invitations to Express Entry candidates with experience in one of two trades occupations to apply for nomination through the Labor Market Priorities stream.
  • September 24, 2020: Manitoba invited 189 candidates to apply to the MPNP, including 18 Express Entry candidates under three MPNP streams.
  • September 22, 2020: The province of British Columbia issued invitations to 74 candidates to apply for provincial nomination through four streams of the BC PNP.
  • September 17, 2020: Prince Edward Island issued invitations to 345 economic immigration candidates to apply for a provincial nomination.
  • September 16, 2020: British Columbia issued invitations to 407 candidates to apply for provincial nomination through five streams of the BC PNP.
  • September 15, 2020: Saskatchewan issued 621 invitations to candidates in the Express Entry and Occupations In-Demand streams of the SINP.
  • September 10, 2020: Manitoba issued invitations to 212 candidates, including 22 Express Entry candidates, to apply to the MPNP under three MPNP streams.
  • September 8, 2020: British Columbia issued invitations to 67 candidates to apply for provincial nomination through four streams of the BC PNP. This was a Tech Pilot draw.
  • September 1, 2020: British Columbia issued 428 invitations to candidates to apply for provincial nomination through five streams of the BC PNP. 11 entrepreneurial candidates were also issued invitations.
