Asian Universities are growing in prowess in the realm of education and there is no denying to this. The new QS World University Rankings 2020 bear testimony to the academic reputation of the Universities in Asia.
The implication is that overseas students seeking quality education may also consider East among their options for study abroad. They do not confine themselves to those located in the US, the UK or Europe.

Totally 12 Asian Universities feature in the QS top 50. The highest ranking Universities in Asia are in Singapore. Both tied at the 11th place, the National University of Singapore and Nanyang Technological University just missed the top 10. These 2 Universities in Singapore have been ranked amongst the finest Universities in Asia consistently. However, they have not forayed into the top 10 in the last couple of years, as quoted by Study International.
Tsinghua University in China is ranked at the 16th position and has climbed 1 place higher from the previous year. The Peking University in China and the University of Tokyo in Japan are meanwhile tied at the 22nd position.
The University of Hong Kong is tied at the 25th position with the Duke University in the US. The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology is meanwhile ranked 32nd among the top 50.
Japan’s Kyoto University is tied at the 33rd position with the UK’s King’s College London. Seoul National University the top institution in South Korea is ranked at the 37th position.
The other Universities in Asia featuring in the top 50 in QSWUR 2020 include:

- Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, South Korea (41)
- The Chinese University, Hong Kong (46)
