Challengers of Brexit have decided to move their own red bus to the roads against the UK Govt even as there are talks of another referendum. The motto line is ‘UK Govt itself says that Brexit will charge 2,000 million £ per week. Is this worth?
The 8 days journey of this bus will commence at the Westminster. It will have 33 stops across the UK. The bus is crowd-funded according to the organizers with average 12 pounds donation each, as quoted by the Bloomberg.
The red bus had become the 2016 referendum campaign’s iconic image. Boris Johnson traveled all across the UK in the red bus to campaign for the exit vote. It had the slogan ‘We contribute £350 million to the EU per week. Instead, let’s fund our NHS’.
UK lawmaker from the Labor Party Stephen Timms said that it is a simple assertion that is mathematical. It is created to have an impact and I believe it will, he added. UK citizens must really evaluate. Are they really inclined to undergo the hardships of Brexit that this government is imposing? said the lawmaker.
Johnson’s original figures had quoted gross budgetary payment of the UK to the EU. It had annoyed the campaigners to remain in the EU. The reason is that it was deceptive as it did not account for rebates for the UK and other grants.
During the exit referendum campaign, the campaign partner for Johnson Michael Grove had played down the issue. He said that UK citizens are fed up with the experts. This has not changed much and this may be a cause of concern for Timms and his partners on the bus.
