Students planning to travel to London by British Airways can participate in a contest and win a free ticket. They need to pen a few lines to answer ‘‘as a student, how would you spend a day in London?’. This should be submitted on Twitter tagging the airlines and using their handle @British_Airways. Alternately, they can tag them using the hashtag #FlyBA on Facebook.

The Hindu was quoted as saying that participants could write about the places they dreamt of visiting in London, their hypothetical experiences with British culture and which places they would like to visit and where they would shop in the UK. The contest claims to give a rare opportunity to spend a day with the airlines and experience London through its vision, from travelling through the London’s streets or experiencing the global heritage which Britain is renowned for globally.

Two participants will be chosen as winners. They will win one return (economy) ticket each from one of the five cities — Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad and Mumbai— to London. The contest will end on 18 August at 11:59 pm IST.

British Airways’ regional commercial manager, South Asia, Moran Birger, said that they had been providing services to India for over 90 years, and would continue their long tradition to encourage dreams of students travelling overseas.

Birger said that British Airways would allow extra baggage of up to 23 kg to Indian students heading to the Europe, Canada, the UK and US, besides the current allowance of one check-in bag. This offer is valid for students until 30 September.

If you are planning to study abroad, we will help you realise your dreams at Y-Axis. We operate out of 19 offices, which are located in all the major cities in India.
