Canadian Universities with maximum Indians

One of the world’s best educational programs is provided by Canada. It offers a tolerant and supportive culture with one of the safest student environments in the world. Therefore, it is no wonder that students from all over the world are keens to enroll in Canada’s best colleges.

The number of foreign students saw a rise of 92 percent over the last ten years. This was largely due to the programs for postgraduate research and a wide variety of excellent undergraduate programs. If you are studying in any of Canada’s provinces, your job chances will increase considerably.

Indian students choose to seek employment in Canada after graduating from a university here. Canada extends plenty of career openings to foreign students because of its immigration and post-study work visa policies. The post-study work permit known as the Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) can be sought by foreign students who have earned their master’s degree from a Canadian university.

Here is a list of Canadian universities that have a considerable number of Indian students:

  1. University of Toronto

UToronto, as it is popularly called, is one of the world’s top universities. It has three campuses: Scarborough, Mississauga, and Downtown Toronto. It is a research-intensive university which offers numerous courses, including Master of Science in Applied Computing, M.Sc. in Computer Science, Master in Applied Science and Aerospace Engineering, and MBA.

McGill University, based in Quebec, is yet another top university in Canada, offering its students hundreds of programs ranging from biochemistry, communication studies, human nutrition, law, and sociology. MS in Computer Science, MS in Civil Engineering, MSc in Mechanical Engineering, MBA, Master of Law, etc. are common choices for MS.

Founded in 1908, the university is recognized as the ‘most foreign university’ in North America. UBC provides different MS courses, such as MS in Computer Science, MS in Materials Engineering, MS in Chemical and Biological Engineering, MS in Nursing, MBA, Physical Therapy Master, and many others.

  1. Université de Montréal

This is a public research university situated in Quebec, popularly known as UdeM. The university offers 65 graduate and undergraduate programs and 71 doctoral programs for students to choose from, spread across 60+ departments.

McMaster University, one of the world’s top 100 universities, was founded in 1887. Hundreds of foreign students from all over the world study at the university. MSc in Computer Science, MS in Nursing, M.A.Sc in Chemical Engineering and M.A.Sc in Mechanical Engineering, MBA, MD. McMaster University are the different courses offered here.

  1. University of Waterloo

The University of Waterloo, which is based in Waterloo, Ontario, is home to thousands of students from over 120 different countries around the world. About 100 undergraduate and 190 graduate programs are offered here. Some of the university’s courses include  Master of Applied Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Master of Applied Science in Chemical Engineering and Master of Applied Science in Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering.

  1. Concordia University

Concordia University was founded in 1974. It is based in the city of Montreal and is known for its versatile learning approach. The university is among the best universities and institutes in Quebec and in Canada.

The university strives to have countless opportunities for students with over 100 graduate and 300 undergraduate programs and courses.

  1. University of Calgary

The University of Calgary is one of the top 50 universities in the world, with 55 departments, 250 undergraduate, graduate and doctoral programs, and thousands of students enrolled every year. It offers different programs such as MS in Computer Science, MBA, MA in Communication and Media Studies, and many programs.

  1. Queen’s University

Queen’s University was founded in 1841 and is one of Canada’s oldest universities.  It has more than 28000 students. The University offers various courses, such as MS in Management, MBA, MS in Nursing etc.
