The employment rate among young people graduating in the UK is higher than that of the US, Australia and Japan, according to a report by the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development
However, employment rates for this age group and education level are higher in Russia, Brazil and Germany. Russia has the highest employment rate for men, with about 95 per cent of male graduates in work, while Brazil has among the highest for women (about 86 per cent).
Of the countries chosen for comparison, Japan has among the lowest employment rates for young people with higher education qualifications. Males have similar rates of employment as the UK at about 92 per cent, but only about 74 per cent of females are employed.
