1st recipients of the first 10-year UAE Visas welcome their new status

The first recipients of the first 10-year Residency UAE Visas have welcomed their latest status. This will help in providing stability for a long term, they added. It is for their families and themselves while residing in the UAE.

20 Scientists have been offered the long-term UAE Visas. It includes Scientific Excellence Mohammad Bin Rashid Medal first and second edition winners.

The UAE Cabinet announced the resolution to offer 10-year Visas in November 2018. The initiative aims to offer long term Visas to specialists in Research, Science, and Medical fields.

Khalifa University Professor from Jordan Dr. Hassan Arafat said that this is an outstanding measure in the correct direction. He is one among the first recipients of the long term Visas, as quoted by the Gulf News.

Efforts in Science and major discoveries surpass short-term plans and frequently needs much time said, Dr. Arafat. The longer the duration of Visas, better will be the level of our discoveries, he added. This, in turn, will really benefit the society at large, said Dr. Hassan Arafat.

A UK national born in Sri Lanka Dr. Lakmal Seneviratne is the Director of Centre for Autonomous Robotic Systems Khalifa University. He said that he is very proud of receiving the long-term UAE Visa.

I am very pleased to receive the Visa said, Dr. Lakmal Seneviratne. But, above everything, this is a big acknowledgment of the contribution that we have made and it is a privilege, he added.

Dr. Lakmal Seneviratne said that he is associated with a lot of hiring for Khalifa University for finding the best talents along with his research. Offering long-term stability to Scientists for carrying out their research is a huge added advantage, he said.
