There are a few countries in African Union (AU) with which Ghana has a visa-free agreement. But for the others in the AU, the country has introduced a visa-on-arrival scheme at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA).
When tourists arrive in Ghana, they should make sure that they possess a passport, which is valid for at least three months after the date of arrival and a return ticket or proof of onward travel. They must also show evidence that they have enough funds and proof of accommodation in order to be granted visas by the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS). The visa-on-arrival eliminates many hurdles for AU travellers such as lengthy processes and red-tapism. In addition, it saves them time and money as several forms need not be filled. As far as Ghana is concerned, it is a godsend for the country’s tourism industry, with more tourists arriving from different African nations. This, in turn, will definitely improve this African nation’s GDP.
Ghana has a lot of attractions which draw tourists from across the world. They include diverse wildlife, pristine beaches, large waterfalls, national parks and so on.
