Aisha de Sequeria (1969-2020) was a well-known investment banker and the co-country head of Morgan Stanley, India.
Aisha de Sequeira her schooling at Our Lady of the Rosary in Goa and then studied at the Goa Engineering College and then went to the US to study at Yale University.
Profession
De Sequeira joined Morgan Stanley to begin her lifelong association with the company. She took over as co-head of Morgan Stanley India in 2013.
Achievements
She rose through the ranks at the bank and came to India as the co-head in 2013. After taking over the bank, she was involved in many high-profile transactions, including investments by Facebook and Google into Reliance Jio.
She spearheaded other major deals which include the Japanese financial services Nippon’s investment into Reliance Life and Reliance Asset Management, as per reports.
She was listed among the 50 most powerful women in business by Fortune India magazine. She was one of those rare personalities who chose to come to India after spending many years abroad. She made a name for herself and the bank during her stint in India.
Aisha de Sequeira fought against a terminal illness for five years but this did not stop her from excelling in her professional life till the end.
