Types of Australian student visas

The Student visa (Subclass 500) 

This is the visa issued by Australia for students who want to do VET courses. It’s the same visa applicable to many other streams of study. Those include primary & secondary education, higher education, postgraduate research, and courses sponsored by the Department of Foreign Affairs or Defence.

Visitor Visa (Subclasses 600, 601, 651)

Do you want to do short courses in Australia? Then you can come to Australia via a Visitor visa (Subclasses 600, 601, 651). With this visa, you can study in Australia for a maximum period of 3 months.

Working Holiday Visa (Subclass 417 and 462)

If you are aged between 18 and 30 years with a valid passport, you may apply for this visa. This visa allows you to study for a maximum period of 4 months in Australia.

Student Guardian visa (Subclass 590)

This visa allows certain persons to stay with a student in Australia. This applies to students under 18 years who need a guardian’s help. With this visa, you can study for up to 3 months in Australia.

Temporary Graduate (Subclass 485) 

This visa applies to international students who have completed an Australian education. They would want to stay in Australia to get work experience. The visa does not state work type or work hours restrictions. This visa must be applied in Australia. The students also need to hold an eligible student visa in the last 6 months of applying.

To be eligible for the courses in this stream, you should hold a qualification at least equivalent to Australian Year 11. An average score of 5.5 in IELTS certification is also required.

A Public Relations Officer can earn between $58,000 and $76,000 annually. A Social Media Manager can earn from $58,000 to $81,000 per annum. The earnings of a Marketing Coordinator are between $53,000 and $67,000.

Business

To be eligible for the courses in this stream, you should hold at least a degree or a qualification equivalent to Australian Year 10.

A receptionist can earn between $41,000 and $54,000 annually. An Accounts Clerk can earn from $40,000 to $62,000 per annum. The earnings of an Administration Assistant are between $46,000 and $61,000.

Information Technology
