Humanity first is the solution now: US immigrant billionaire

US immigrant billionaire Hamdi Ulukaya has said that ‘Humanity first is the solution now and the Americans must rethink their approach to immigration’. He had immigrated to the US in the mid-90s and built Chobani the yogurt empire.

I am not against the US first said Ulukaya. But it must be humanity first as well, he added. He was speaking at the event Tent Partnership for Refugees. This was a nonprofit event, as quoted by the CNN.

Ulukaya criticized the immigration policies of the current US administration led by Trump. He also disapproved of the manner of enforcement of policies.

Immigration is a deeply personal issue for Ulukaya. He is a US immigrant billionaire, self-made. The childhood days were spent by Ulukaya in Turkey tending sheep and goat in rural Turkey.

The US immigrant billionaire started hiring refugees and immigrants as workers at Chobani from 2010. This strategy attracted cruel attacks from the conspiracy theorists in the far right wing. They had even propagated untruth about the firm.

Around 30% of the employees at Chobani are refugees of immigrants. My suppliers and employees are worried said the immigrant billionaire.

The employees are worried regarding their future in the US said the CEO. They are also worried regarding their ability to visit or be visited by the family members of relatives, he added. Meanwhile, farmers in Iowa are worried regarding their ability to find workers, said Ulukaya.

The US is a magic land, said the immigrant billionaire. He was alluding to the historic position of the US as a beacon of opportunity and hope.

I hope that the idea of magic land does not get damaged above and beyond all said Ulukaya.
