IELTS that has been a paper-based test for almost 30 years can be now attempted on the Computer. IELTS is a test that must be attempted by aspiring overseas immigrants to realize their Overseas Studies or Jobs aspirations. The aspirants have had a choice of 50 locations for test and 48 test days for every calendar year. This is for both the General and Academic Training test formats.
The aspiring overseas immigrants had been asking for enhanced choices and the IELTS authorities have now responded to the same. They have thus introduced the IELTS test that is computer delivered. It will have increased choices in terms of test dates. The results will also be offered within five to seven days, as quoted by the Times of India.
Starting from 23 August 2018 the IELTS test delivered via computer is now available at New Delhi, India. The registration is subject to availability of slots and the test will be held on select days. Those who prefer the paper-based format of IELTS will be able to take the same if they prefer it.
The IELTS test is offered in 2 formats – General Training and Academic. The IELTS General Training test is the only non-academic test available for immigration to select nations, unlike other providers. This includes Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the US and the UK.
The good news for IELTS test takers is that they can now choose how they attempt the test. Those who opt for the IELTS test delivered by computer will take the Writing, Reading and Listening components via a desktop computer. All aspects of the test are similar to the paper-based test that includes:
