Indian students possessing the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) and equivalent certificates should enrol in community colleges, polytechnics and skills based training centres.
Second Deputy Minister of Education, P. Kamalanathan said the education system and the training provide good job prospect for the graduates.
“The pace of development in various sectors such as electrical and electronic engineering require skilled workers.
“Via this kind of education, Indian graduates have more opportunities to work in fields that require high skills,” he told reporters after attending the Malaysian Indian Education Road Show at CIAST Training Centre, here today.
The highly skilled graduates would also help the government to reduce the dependence of local companies on foreign workers.
The government also requires more skilled workers to ensure that Malaysia can achieve developed country status by 2020. –Bernama
