DUBAI: Indian expats in the UAE have been asked to register with the Indian missions in the country to make a proper database of Indians living in the Gulf nation.
An official form is available on the website of Indian embassy which also provides a link to the registration form.
“All Indian resident in UAE are advised to register themselves with the Indian Embassy or Indian Consulate by filling in the requested details on our online form which will help us build a comprehensive database of Indians in the UAE,” Indian Consul General Anurag Bhushan said.
Upon submission, a system-generated user ID and password will be sent to the individual’s email which can be used to edit the details as and when required.
The facility is primarily for building a comprehensive database of Indians working and residing in UAE which may prove to be valuable in improving services and rendering requisite assistance in situations arising from unforeseen contingencies.
The form asked for very basic details like names of the individual, spouse and father/guardian, details of passport, visa and Emirates ID, in addition to sponsor information.
Contact details of the individual both here in the UAE and back in India are also required.
Indian expatriate community is reportedly the largest ethnic community in UAE constituting roughly about 30 per cent of the country’s population. Though most of the Indians living here are employed, about 10 per cent of the Indian population is the dependent family members.
