New Zealand experiences an increase in tourism immigration

There is good news for the Government of New Zealand as greater numbers of people from Asia are choosing the country as their travel destination. Additionally, it has also been found that the number of people choosing to go to Australia has also decreased to a great extent. There has been a 12 percent rise in the number of people coming-in since December 2015.

Another advantage is the fact that, departures also dropped by 2 percent which will contribute positively to the growth and development of the country. The net migrant gain from April 2015 has been at 200. This is significant as the last net migration as large as this was seen in the year 1991. The interesting thing about this is the fact that all the migrants that have come in to New Zealand in December 2015 are from Australia.

LESS PEOPLE LEAVING NEW ZEALAND

An observation of the immigration trend revealed that only 11 percent of the citizens of New Zealand are choosing to step outside the country. The current number of people willing to go to other countries is less than half of the people who left the country in the year 2010. Now the status of the student visa too has undergone a positive change. It has been found that the rise in the number of student visas has gone up by 22 percent, letting in an average of 27,900 students every year.

MORE INDIAN STUDENTS IN NEW ZEALAND

Most of the immigrants are Indian students who come in search of greater academic career outside their home country. The numbers revealed that three quarters of 14,500 people who come from India are students. There is an increase on people coming in on the work visa too.  The rise of migrants in this category is presently at 13.5 percent.
