Scholarships for Indian Students

The Human Resource Development Ministry of India has invited applications for Scholarship for UG – undergraduate courses offered by the Sultanate of Oman. Oman is offering scholarships to students from India for the 2019-20 academic years under Omani Program for Cultural and Scientific Cooperation.

The scholarships offered by Oman are for UG courses and cover B.Tech, BE, B.Com, B.Sc., and B.A. but MBBS is not included. 2 slots of scholarships are available for students from India who are giving Non-resident status and residing in India currently.

The scholarships will be inclusive of a return flight ticket as well as tuition fees. Monthly stipend of RO 200 for each student will be offered if the students are not offered the accommodation by the educational institution.

The scholarship holder will receive RO 140 as monthly allowance if the students are offered the accommodation by the educational institution.

The MHRD website has the Pro-forma for the application which can be downloaded by the applicants. The application for the scholarship must be filled in English as well as Arabic, as quoted by the NDTV.

The last date for receipt of application form with the Cover Letter by the MHRD is 30 June 2019. The following documents must be offered by the applicants with the Cover Letter and the application form:

  • Marks sheet for 12th and 10th or corresponding
  • A copy of the 12th and 10th certificate or corresponding certificate
  • A copy of equivalency certificate offered by the Education Ministry and holds good for certificates that have been offered overseas
  • A Medical Certificate as evidence of good health and to confirm that the student does not suffer from any infectious and/or chronic diseases
  • A copy of the valid Passport of the student

The short listing of the candidates for Scholarships by Oman will be done depending on the marks secured by them in the class 10th and 12th examinations. The maximum number of students who would be shortlisted for the Scholarships is 3. The Sultanate of Oman will be doing the ultimate selection of the candidates who have been nominated.
