Silicon Valley will suffer for distancing Overseas Students

The US Silicon Valley is failing to offer adequate opportunities to the overseas students to utilize the potential of their skills and talents. They are also unable to become a part of the ever-expanding tech movement in the US. Economy experts have predicted that failure to include international talents in the future roadmap will cost dearly to the Silicon Valley.

Overseas students are finding it tough to make inroads in the Silicon Valley and break through the tech segregation borders. Laura Behrens Wu arrived in the US from Germany to pursue MBA in San-Francisco. She is now the Co-Founder and CEO of SHIPPO.

Wu found that the Valley was a brutal and tough crowd to join when she was trying to gain footing as an overseas student to launch her startup. She spoke to 125 investors and faced 115 rejections. Wu nevertheless defied expectations and finally was successful, as quoted by the Study International.

Resiliency skills, communication, and leadership need to be nurtured by the Silicon Valley. If not it will not be long before the thriving pool of overseas talents will be entirely separated from the hub of Silicon Valley. It needs to develop a growth mindset and must not waste the potential of overseas students.

Overseas students who arrive from just a little distance from the Silicon Valley are amazed at the depths of its musings. They are intrigued forever but increasingly excluded from opportunities.

If this is the scenario for students from nearby nations, overseas students away thousands of miles can imagine their situation when they arrive at the Silicon Valley. The speedy progression of the Valley will soon halt devoid of the diversity and passion of the overseas students.
