Updates to South Australia State-Nominated Occupation list

The South Australian government’s newly released list of State Nominated Occupation is effective from 5 July. This list has been made available to all applicants, including South Australia’s foreign graduates.

The list of occupations was chosen depending on the comprehensive workforce examinations of skill shortages existing currently and the probable demand these skills would have in the future.

These were arrived at from the CSOL (Consolidated Skilled Occupation List) that the state of South Australia is currently in need of. Applicants seeking state nomination in South Australia under the General Skilled Migration programme should have an occupation that figures on this list to apply if they do not meet the Supplementary Skilled List requirements.

The analysis was arrived at after industry consultation with organizations and industry-linked training bodies. It takes into consideration many other requirements, such as the age of the workforce, supply from native and foreign graduates and those migrating from other states in Australia.

A slew of occupations have been thrown open for state nomination, including general managers, chief executives, farm managers, ICT professionals, restaurant managers, farmers, chefs, etc.
