Tourist arrivals are predicted to drop by more than 220,000 this year. To counter the dip in tourism, Thailand has decided to take some steps. One of the steps is expected to be fee waiver for 60 days visa. At present tourists are required to pay $62 to obtain 60 days visa.
Thai Airways has also step up to help ailing Thailand’s hospitality sector. The airline has agreed to slash airfare by 50 per cent for domestic destinations like Phuket, Samui and Krabi from Suvarnabumi Airport in Bangkok.
