In the realm of migration overseas, the importance of having language skills is doubtlessly high. There are tests like IELTS, GRE, and PTE that are standards in English language skills. These tests are essential while you pursue study abroad or work overseas through a respective visa.
Pearson Tests of English (PTE) is a computer-based academic English language test. Its purpose is to gauge the language skill of non-native English speakers. The candidates taking up PTE exam training intend to study or work abroad. They go for the test to join a course or employment in a country overseas.
The test measures skill level in English language tasks like reading, speaking, listening and writing. The makers of the test, Pearson, is a world leader in educational courseware and assessment. They also provide a range of learning and teaching services with the power of technology.
If you are looking to apply for a student visa, then becomes mandatory to prove a certain level of English proficiency. PTE preparation is relevant in this context.
Pearson, the largest examining body in the UK, deliver PTE Coaching for 2 streams:
- PTE General
- PTE Academic
PTE General Test
The PTE General level is a foundation level test. It’s meant for those who take the test to prove knowledge of English that’s beginner level. The aim is to imbibe English that will suffice the candidate to survive in social and travel situations.
PTE Academic Test
The PTE Academic is a computer-based English language test. It is a standard test trusted by colleges, universities, and governments globally. The test offers candidates the fairest, fastest and most flexible way to prove their skill in English for studying or immigrating abroad.
The difference between PTE Academic and PTE General
- PTE Academic is similar to IELTS or TOEFL tests. It has 4 modules namely reading, writing, listening, and speaking. PTE General has only 2 sections: a written paper and an interview.
- The validity of the PTE Academic score is just 2 years. The score of PTE General is valid for a lifetime.
- PTE Academic test is conducted around the year. PTE General is conducted only 3 times a year.
- Registration for PTE Academic is done with Pearson official site. Registration for PTE General is done on Edexcel.
