Are you planning a journey via UAE? Then it is possible that you have a stay at UAE for any time from a few hours to days. You can use this opportunity with a transit visa.

A transit visa lets you travel and visit places in the transit country. In the case of UAE, the current law allows you to take 2 types of visas: a 48-hour visa and a 96-hour visa. You should travel within 14 days to use the 48-hour transit visa. For 96-hour visa, you should travel within 30 days of its issue. Indian travellers can get this visa from any UAE-based airline viz. Emirates and Etihad.

With a transit visa, you can step out into UAE and visit places! Though you cannot work, you can do business meetings. If you are planning a stay at a hotel, you must submit details of the booking. If you are staying with a relative in UAE, you must submit their proof of residence.

How to be eligible:

A valid passport is a primary requirement for eligibility. You should also have an onward flight from the UAE before the expiry of the specified time. If you book a hotel for a stay over a day, you must submit hotel booking details. If you stay at a relative’s home, you must submit their proof of residence.

Documents to produce for visa:

A valid passport with at least 6 months of validity from the travel date is necessary. Besides that, you will need colour copies of the passport and 2 passport size photos (identical). A transit visa requires confirmed flight tickets for the onward journey.

Issue duration and fees of UAE transit visa:

As of date, the fee for a single-entry UAE transit visa in the normal course is Rs. 4800. Normal UAE transit visa will process within 4 working days.

An express option for processing is available for Rs. 6300. Here, you will get the processing done even faster.

Once you get the e-visa via email, you must submit it in print to the flight operator you are travelling with.
