Upgrades and changes in the TOEFL exam in effect now

The TOEFL exam has gone through some changes that will help to make the test more feature-rich. The improved features included exclusive scoring features, more testing choices, and test prep materials that are authentic.

As it became impossible for candidates to take the TOEFL test due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a TOEFL iBT Special Home Edition was introduced. This test can be taken from the candidate’s home online. A human proctor will oversee the test.

The TOEFL iBT test centers will implement enhanced health and safety procedures and processes. Measures like social distancing, cleaning procedures, and mask requirements. The TOEFL iBT test features the same format, content, scoring, and on-screen experience as the traditional test taken in a test center.

For starters, the test time will be under 3 hours. There will be fewer questions in each section even though the test structure will be the same. The candidate can continue to give a top overall performance with MyBest scores. It combines the highest scores taken from the test dates of the previous 2 years. Then they are sent to admission officers.

Also, in the TOEFL iBT test, the scores of the Listening and Reading sections are available for instant viewing. It helps candidates in making informed decisions on score reporting and retesting.
