What is the job outlook for Poland in 2022?

Poland, a country in Central Europe, is the sixth-largest economy of the European Union (EU) and also one of the fastest-growing economies in Europe.

A democratic country, the Republic of Poland offers a high quality of living. Tourism is one of its main revenue generators. It is renowned for its breath-taking environs, with activities such as skiing, sea bathing, sailing, and mountain climbing, attracting tourists from abroad.

As Poland is located in Europe’s center, it is well connected to all the developed economies of Europe. It has well-established trading connections with countries such as Germany, France, the United Kingdom, Italy, and Spain, among others. Because of its political and economic stability, skilled workers, and large domestic market, Poland is one of the suggested places for investment and development.

Present scenario

According to the Central Statistical Office of Poland (GUS), employment in the private sector in Poland grew by 2.4% in March 2022 compared to the corresponding period of 2021. Employment, on a monthly basis, increased by 0.2% for the same period. Growth in paid employment was noted in 2022

Another study revealed that there would be a shortage of skilled workers in science, engineering, business, administration, etc. Of these, 34% of job openings are for high-level professionals and 15% of them for sales and services professionals.

Job outlook by sector

According to the European Centre for the Development of Vocational Training (CEDEFOP), the sectors where there is expected to be the largest employment growth in Poland would be oil and gas and repair of household goods.

With Poland, too, like other European countries, facing problems such as the aging of working-age populations, there will be a demand for skilled workers in artificial intelligence and other sectors of information technology (IT).
