Overseas Education Week will be celebrated by the Western Illinois University from November 2 to 14 this year. WIU normally celebrates IEW for 1 week from Monday to Friday (November 12 10 16). However, this year WIU will celebrate IEW for 2 weeks in November with a series of activities.
US Department of State has said that Overseas Education Week is a chance to celebrate the benefits of overseas education and exchange globally. IEW is a collaborative initiative of the Department of Education in the US and the Department of State. It is a part of the efforts of the university to promote programs preparing US nationals for a global ambiance. This also aims to attract leaders of the future from overseas to learn, study, and exchange experiences.
Jeff Hancks Director of School of Global Education and Outreach Executive said that IEW is one of its premier opportunities. This is for educating and entertaining the campus community with global programming, added Hancks.
We work diligently to attract overseas talents to the WIU said the Director. It is our expectation that people will benefit from the extraordinary learning opportunities offered during this special week, he added.
