UK Work Visa

Obtaining a UK job after studies is easier now for overseas students owing to the changes announced in January 2018 by the UK government. It is another indication of transition towards a more flexible approach by the UK for overseas immigrant workers.

The changes make it easier for overseas students to obtain a UK job after completing their studies. It includes an ability to apply for a UK Work Visa immediately after the course. They are not required to wait until the awarding of Degree now, as quoted by the Times of India.

International students were till now able to apply for a Work Visa in the UK only once they received thesis scores or Degree. Tier 4 visa is available for overseas students that have a validity of the course duration plus some extra months. If the students are not able to find a job in this period, they are required to exit the UK. The new rules have changed all these norms now.

A resident of Chandigarh Gaurav Kaila said that the new rules will enable Indian students in the UK to apply for Tier 2 UK Visas a few months in advance. This will also motivate more and more Indian students to immigrate to the UK for higher education and work, he added.

The UK has a huge demand for qualified graduates. The global standards overseas education along with opportunities to work after studies makes the UK a great destination for Indian students. It is not surprising that the numbers of UK Student Visas offered to Indians in 2017 increased by 28%.

An Indian national working in the UK Eva Richie Mathew said that there are no issues for students to come and obtain a UK Job. She is employed in the UK as a Co-ordinator Marketing Logistics for 2 years. The only requirement for the students is they must possess all the mandatory documents demonstrating that they will complete their studies and return to India.

Mathew said that European nationals are the focus now after Brexit. In the last 2 years many Indian students have arrived in the UK, she added.

Andrew Ayre the UK Deputy High Commissioner has applauded the hike in the numbers of UK Student Visas. He said that this is due to the changes implemented by the UK government.
