USA Study Visa

A new innovative program involving the chance for students to study abroad is here now! The joint degree program offered by universities abroad is proving to be a brilliant study plan. American universities are offering them already on diploma and graduate level.

The program presents a win-win situation in the study overseas scene. The students can get the exposure given by foreign faculty to foreign learning systems. The multi-national companies looking for candidates with international qualifications get skilled workers.

The collaborative study program aims to solve the shortage of skilled resources. These include qualified chefs and experts in culinary arts.

Joint degree programs are giving students the best of both worlds. For example, George Brown College of Canada started such a program with Chitkara University, Chandigarh. The course was the Bachelor of Commerce in Culinary Management.

The degree is offered in a 2+2 model. In the third year of study at Chitkara, the student is given a choice to continue studies in Canada. Even before they reach Canada, the George Brown faculty gives them exposure to the Canadian environment. Indian students get to study an internationally recognized curriculum. They get to learn the best practices in Culinary Management. They also learn about culinary trends from around the world.

If the student chooses to complete his studies in Chitkara, he can do so in the third year. Otherwise, the student gets the chance to learn another 2 years in Canada. The advantages of this are many:

  • Exposure to teaching styles that are diverse
  • Exposure to a different cultural environment
  • A better connect with multi-national customers
  • Entry to a global workforce

Bachelor of Commerce (Honors) in Culinary Management is the first 4-year degree offered under the joint degree program. Until now, only diploma programs have been offered as specialization across Canada.

Besides the traditional modules, the students are exposed to the latest technological factors. These include tech-enabled food delivery services or automated food processing. Guest lectures from the leaders in the sector and industry tours are also conducted.

Making a smooth transition

The transition of students to the foreign curriculum and institution is handled skillfully. They get exposed to foreign teaching methods and styles. They will also go through several orientation sessions and training before they reach the foreign campus. These will help them to settle in the new place comfortably.

Benefitting from the job prospects

A multi-campus degree under the joint degree program has multiple career benefits. The most prominent of them is the experience in diverse cultural environments. This creates adaptable young graduates with great skills. They will be fit to work in a larger number of countries.

Such courses will also help them to enter the reputed workforce of different countries. The Canadian workforce is one good example.
