60% of Overseas Students in Canada want to obtain the PR Visa in the 2018 cohort. This has been revealed by the latest survey of Canadian Bureau for International Education. CBIE report found that this is an increase over the 51% in 2015 cohort. 30% of the students said that they were not sure regarding their choice, as quoted by the Study International.

The participants of the survey also revealed their future plans immediately after graduating in Canada. They would either like to pursue higher studies in Canada or Work in Canada, added the CBIE survey.

Overseas students who would choose to remain in Canada for Studies also revealed their choice of institution. 25% of them would like to change their Canadian institution. 21% of them said that they would remain at the current institution.

75% of the overseas students said that they would like to Work in Canada after completing their studies. 14,228 Post-secondary overseas students had participated in the CBIE survey. This was 4% of the total cohort.

Around 35% or more than 1/3rds of them are pursuing the Bachelor’s degree. Rest of them includes 13% pursuing Diploma Studies, 22% pursuing Master’s degree and 17% of them in Ph.D. programs.

With 23% of Overseas Students in Canada, students from East Asia form the largest regional group. Students from South Asia are the second largest group at 22%.
