Restoration of the Post Graduate Work Visa:

More than 30,000 students from India applied for the Tier 4 (Study) Visa in 2019. This is a significant rise of around 63% from the year 2018 which was a mere 19,000 applicants only.

With the introduction of the Graduate Visa also known as the Post Graduate Work Visa. Indian applicants will get help from this program. On completion of their education, students can stay back in the UK on the 2-year post-study work visa.

A Graduate or Post Study Work Visa is open to students across the world including India. Students should have completed their undergraduate course and hold a valid student visa to be eligible for this program. This visa allows students to remain in the UK for two years and take-up jobs of their choice.

This visa allows fast-track processing for scientists. The limit on the number of research for PhD students has closed. They are now allowed to switch to a skilled work visa. The UK is a leader in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) segment. Majority of Indian students opting for studies in the UK choose one of the STEM subjects.

This visa also provides opportunities to look for work after graduation. The new program will make sure that only deserving students are eligible. The presence of international students will contribute to the country’s economy and growth.

Restriction on the number of applications for Tier 2 (Skilled Immigration) is revoked making it easier for students on Graduate Visa to switch to Tier 2 skilled work visa. They can start working in a job that matches their skill.
