Visa procedures simplified for Azerbaijan, four other Asian countries

At one time, to get a visa to Azerbaijan was very tough. But with the introduction electronic visas, all that has changed, says Trend citing Wanderlust travel magazine.

It has now become a lot simpler to get a visa to this country straddling Asia and Europe.

Now the applying process is online and the visa is issued within 2-4 days of application. The fees have also drastically come down.

The travel magazine gives the second ranking in easy visa procedures to Cambodia. This Southeast Asian country has too introduced an electronic visa, which makes the process easier and faster. Cambodian visa too only takes 2-3 days to be processed. For its neighbouring countries like Laos, Thailand or Vietnam, Cambodia, formerly Kampuchea, issues visas on arrival at most of its important border crossings.

Sri Lanka has also made its visa processing easier. Once a visitor enters the government website of this South Asian country and presses ‘Enter’, they are issued an e-visa to Sri Lanka, usually, within 24 hours. Interviews or letters are not even necessary it is said.

Tajikistan, which introduced an e-visa in 2016, has also joined this list of tourist-friendly countries. The application can be submitted online with a copy of the visitor’s passport. Now, one need not approach Tajikistan’s embassy. This country’s visa can be obtained in 1-3 days.

Another addition to the list is Vietnam. Britons, for instance, who intend to travel to Vietnam for fewer than 15 days, need not have a visa to enter it. People from other countries can, on the other hand, get a visa by applying online in just 1-2 days.
