Canadian Immigration

Canada is often an Immigrant’s first choice when it comes to migrating abroad. The country offers numerous Canadian Immigration programs. However, this often confuses potential Immigrants. To know the best Canadian Immigration program, one must decide the purpose of the visit.

The Canadian Immigration programs are divided into two main categories –

  • Temporary Residence
  • Permanent Residence

Temporary Residence:

If you want to work or study in Canada or visit the country for a short period of time, Temporary Visa is the right option. Let’s have a look at the various options that come under this Canadian Immigration program.

  • Open Work Permit

This type of permit is the most sought-after. Immigrants are not required to get the Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) and still can work in Canada.

  • Employer-specific Work Permit

Immigrants holding a job offer in Canada should try for this Canadian Immigration program. However, the LMIA is a must in this case, as quoted by The Hindu.

  • Study Permit

Immigrants planning to study at a Canadian institution for more than 6 months should get the Study Permit. They must present a letter of acceptance from Canada University.

  • Single entry Visitor Visa

This Canadian Immigration program allows Immigrants to visit Canada one time for a limited period of time. They can stay in Canada for up to 6 months.

  • Multiple entry Visitor Visa

Immigrants can enter Canada multiple times for up to a period of 10 years. Any application for Visitor Visa is automatically considered for Multiple entry programs.

Permanent Residence:

If you aim at settling in Canada, Permanent Residence is the right option. Let’s see the diverse options under this category.

  • Express Entry

Express Entry is an application management program. It is meant for Skilled Workers, Trades and Experience Class. The right profiles are chosen from the Express Entry pool. They get invites from the Canadian Immigration department.

  • Provincial Immigration

The provinces in Canada conduct their own Immigration programs. These are based on their labour shortage and skill requirement. Potential Immigrants must get an invite from the province to be able to apply for this Canadian Immigration program.

  • Sponsorship

If Immigrants’ spouses hold Canadian Permanent Residence, they would be eligible for Spousal Sponsorship. Also, Permanent Residents can sponsor their dependent children, parents, and grandparents.
